Paul Sheehan's steaming turd of an op-ed piece, that claims Islamophobia is a social construct to "fit the prevailing orthodoxy in academia that the default position for Muslims in Australia is victim", proves a very important point.
It proves he is Sydney's thinking-person's Andrew Bolt who will gladly whip up prejudice if it helps his career.
Sheehan questions whether, "Islamophobia exists at all?"
Then argues, "there is ample evidence that Australians have become uneasy about Muslims."
Sheehan follows this up with a long list of "Muslim" crimes and then argues, "Given the abundant evidence of violent cause and fearful effect, involving a small percentage of antagonists, the general charge of Islamophobia is an ideological fabrication."
In other words, Islamophobia is entirely rational.
I'm tipping every radical preacher and far right organisation will be using Sheehan's garbage as a recruiting tool.
The SMH should fire this fuckwit ASAP.

Oh Dear
When it comes to scum bags in Australia, the neo-Nazi organisation Blood and Honour make Outlaw motorcycle gangs look like angels.
Most racist groups in Australia have a dilemma. They are nationalist and prejudice, so they struggle to reconcile the fight by "our brave troops" against Hitler's white supremacist ideals.
B and H don't have that problem. It's Adolf all the way and this mob want to hold a rally on Anzac Day to show their support for their hero. Classy act, living in Australia being protected by our troops while cheering for the murderous swine they went to war against.
B and H is an international organisation and their Australian members will do anything to keep their anonymity.
Pity their data base has just been published on wikileaks.
Here are some great conversations that blow their cover
Most B and H members use "charming" email address to hide their identity containing "1" and "8". 1=A 8=H "AH" Adolf Hitler.
Here are a few Aussies who weren't that careful.

Sack Terry Wallace Now
It's only taken half a game of footy to conclude that Terry Wallace should be fired as the Tigers coach ASAP.
Those people who parade down Oxford Street in Sydney once a year are straighter kicks.
And the Tigers tackle like fairies.
It's been the same ever since Wallace arrived at Tigerland. It's so obvious they can't win consistently with their skills or general softness, and yet nothing seems to have been done. Pathetic.

First kilometer?
April 22.
Mark that date in your calendar.
This is D Day for the ALP in South Barwon and the Surf Coast Shire.
On this date there will be a council meeting to determine the future of Torquay. The people have spoken and it is clear that for every supporter of further development in the Spring Creek valley, there are at least 100 people opposed to this idiotic plan.
I have heard a rumour that the first kilometre of the Spring Creek development has already been signed, sealed, and delivered to the dirt pimps. I have also heard that council are considering allowing this first kilometer development because of contractual obligations/fear of getting taken to VCAT.
If this is the case, this would have to be the greatest procedural fuckup of all time at a local government level. Do the residents of Torquay have two choices: get a shire bankrupted by out of town developers, or get a massive subdivision nobody wants?
If deals have already been done, somebody will go down for it. We are talking about hundreds of millions of dollars signed away before the planning framework has been fully discussed and approved by elected officials. It will also prove without a shadow of a doubt that the public consultation process was a sham.
It should be remembered that, if deals have been done then it's the previous council (and possibly state government officials) that are to blame.
There of course will be corruption and conflict interest allegations that need to be tested.
I sincerely hope the rumours are wrong, but if they are true, I hope those responsible for the first kilometer "debacle" get run out of town and investigated to the full extent of the law.

Get real Keith
The battle for Spring Creek is hotting up and local landowner and ex-mayor, Keith Grossman, is doing his best to change public opinion so he can line his pockets with tens, probably hundreds of millions of dollars.
Here's Keith in The Age:
Get real Keith. That "few selfish people" is a group of at least 2,500. And they certainly aren't blow-ins.
If Grossman was at the red rally he'd know that.
In an earlier attempt to make himself the most unpopular man in town, Grossman was extensively quoted in the local paper claiming that the objectors were too emotional and couldn't see the benifits of lining his pockets with cash while tripling the population of the town.
Keithie-babes got a very good run which isn't a shock considering he sold a shit load of land to the paper's owner for a retirement estate.
The whole Spring Creek saga will be ruled on at an upcoming council meeting. I sincerely hope that those councillors voted in by the masses will side with the masses, and not cave in to a handful of selfish landowners and blow in dirt pimps.
I still can't confirm or deny the rumours that environmental vandals Gunns Limited have bought a big slice of land in Spring Creek, but if they have you can expect a shit fight of massive proportions.
To make matters worse, Grossman has also been mouthing off about "greenies" who are a little bit suspicious of his connections with current sitting councillors. Damn those people who want to make sure that multi-million dollar deals are done transparently and Grossman's endorsements at the last election don't come with strings attached.
And to those councillors who had their campaing material endorsed by Keith, we are watching you very closely indeed. Do you support local democracy or are you going to sell out the masses to help a mate?
Update:
In regards to Keith's "a few selfish people" argument, read the following submission figures on Spring Creek and tell me it's not the other way round.
2822 against and 16 for.
Here's Keith in The Age:
"They have blown in here, some of them for three, four or five years and now don't want anyone else to live here — it's ridiculous when such a plan was put together 20 years ago and our town boundary was built around it," he said.
"It is just these few selfish people that are saying, 'We are here now and we don't want anyone else to come'."

Cue the Banjos
In the Queensland election, Aussie racist windbag Pauline Hanson is confident
I say Pauline Hanson is totally deluded.
I can also conclude that at least 24 per cent of the voters in Beaudesert are either dumb as dogshit or racist mother fuckers..
When Hanson can pull a quarter of the vote, I start to think those nutty Queenslanders who want to secede from Australia may have a point.
Ms Hanson said she'd been buoyed by informal exit polling from the local booth.
"It's basically about four to one in my favour, and that's not my polling, that's from another source.

Hacks at The Australian part 4 million.
Every now and then you see a headline that makes any sane journalist cringe.
Today's effort on the ETS, attached to the story by Matthew Franklin and Lenore Taylor in The Australian is one of those examples.
This is a gross exaggeration of what actually took place. Three mayors answered questions and expressed an opinion on the timing of the ETS.
The headline just shows how pathetic The Australian has become.
All but one of the mayors quoted in the story come from areas that could in no way be considered "Labor heartland". Gippsland, Mt Isa, and Gladstone for fucks sake.
Tim Blair knows a good beat up when he sees one and decided to give this "Labor Heartland" shambles a good kick along on his blog.
Get real Tim. It was three mayors not three cities. You know it, I know it, only your winged monkeys haven't cottoned on to the fact that you're full of shit.

Not all deaths are equal.
After the latest tragic death of an Australian soldier, the Hun's feedback page had a predictable outpouring of grief.
Don't get me wrong people. This is a tragedy, but it simply does not rank in moral terms compared to the deaths of innocent civilians in Afghanistan involving Australian troops.
Let's compare the two tragedies.
The Australian soldier was an adult whereas the five children killed were just that, children.
The Australian soldier was being paid to be in Afghanistan whereas the children were there because they had no other options.
The Australian soldier had a means to defend himself, the kids didn't.
The latter was one person, while there were multiple civilian fatalities in February.
We live in a very weird society, where a soldier's death can cause an outpouring of emotion, and the massacre of civilians by our troops gets virtually no response at all from the masses.
I wonder who will call me a traitor first?

Medicare short comings
I feel so sorry for Jack Johnson. (not the singer). This poor ex-army bloke with cancer has had to admit he shagged Pauline Hanson to help pay for the treatment.
It's a disgraceful way to treat an ex-serviceman.

This is why the Libs will not win in 2010.
Victoria is a mess. The trains are a joke, we are running out of water, the ALP bullshit to win a by-election, and the transport system is dysfunctional.
The Liberals should be a shoe-in to win in 2010, but rather than doing the hard work and introducing policy they go for cheap tabloid politicking. Trying to score political points from a disaster is low, but they can't even play simplistic politics well.
Seriously, WTF was McIntosh thinking?
Every single person in Victoria knew days before Black Saturday of the impending weather conditions. Even people living under rocks, wearing blindfolds and earmuffs knew something was up.
Arguing that the government withheld warnings is just dumb. The ALP now has a mountain of government warnings and press releases to whip McIntosh from now 'til eternity. And I'm tipping no Victorian Liberal is going to back him up on this one.

"I find it incredible that we are only learning now, from leaked documents, that the Government had extensive warning of this extreme danger several days before Black Saturday," Opposition emergency services spokesman Andrew McIntosh said.
"The timing and adequacy of bushfire warnings and alerts must be fully investigated by the royal commission."

It comes as no surprise that the high CO2 industries are targeting Labor MPs because they dared to introduce an emissions trading scheme.
Forget the fact that this scheme will be totally useless in preventing catastrophic climate change.
Forget the fact that the scheme is unbelievably generous to those causing the problem in the first place.
This is about the polluters not wanting to give one single inch to fight climate change. Like the villians in the James Bond films, they want the world..... to destroy of course.
My MP, Darren Cheeseman, will no doubt be targeted because his seat is very marginal and there is plenty of heavy CO2-belching industries surrounding the electorate.
As part of my civic responsibilities, and to save my MP plenty of time and effort, I have drafted the following letter for Mr Cheeseman to send the lobbyists.
Dear sellouts for environmental vandals whose greed knows no bounds,
Fuck Off
Yours Sincerely
Darren Cheeseman MP.
Lobbyists and MPs said Labor and Coalition backbenchers will be targeted by companies and their lobbyists including Rio Tinto, BHP Billiton and Xstrata when Climate Change Minister Penny Wong releases the new draft laws for the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme tomorrow.
The Australian Coal Association will be taking a slide show campaign to backbenchers pressing its case for compensation under the scheme.

Wags at channel 7
I don't normally watch commercial news, but boy, I am glad I did tonight.
The last story of the news before the cross to sport was a mardi gras report.
It ended with four lesbians waving to a camera. Three of them did a traditional wave, but one chose a style that you wouldn't use to farewell your grandma.
Think of your standard two fingered salute and add a flickering tongue.
The look on sports presenter Tim Watson's face was priceless.
Three cheers for the camera man and editor who put that to air.

Wankers part 1,907,028,908,097,756,143.

Air show? Buzz cut Alabaimins spewing colored smoke from their wizz jets to the strains of rockview like a hurricane. What kind of country-fried rube is still impressed by that?!
Sideshow Bob should have added "global warming causing tossers waking up babies showing off their toys to arms trading cunts".
Seriously, If I ever find the cunt who was flying over my house at 2pm today as part of this air show, I'm going to get Sideshow Bob to clean him up like a "tissue at a snot party".

A true political circus.
Unless you wanted a serial baffoon in the Queensland parliament, you would put this guy last on your ticket every time

but...
Warwick Capper is standing in the same seat as this has-been redneck windbag who suckles at the taxpayers teat

So Good luck to you Warwick. I hope you split the wacko vote leaving Hanson with less than 4% of the vote and out of pocket to boot.

Racism yes. Answers???
With Wah highlighting ugly racist rants on the Herald Sun's forum page, I've decided to ask a question on Andrew Bolt's blog about moderation.
My last four posts have all been left off the forum. None have been offensive at all, but racist comments get a run all the time.
I'm wondering if the following effort will a) get a run, and b) get a response.
A definition of Racism
A post that gets past the moderators on this blog:
Two questions for Andrew Bolt.
What exactly is the moderation policy on your blog?
and, Do you think it is acceptable that your blog is a sounding board for racists?
What do you think of my chances of getting a straight answer?

Noun
1. hostile or oppressive behaviour towards people because they belong to a different race
2. the belief that some races are innately superior to others because of hereditary characteristics

A post that gets past the moderators on this blog:
"Well I don’t know of course but you get the impression that there is a number or an above average percentage in the Lebanese/Arab/ Muslim of South West Sydney who are short tempered, relatively thick, criminal, and fundamentally violent with a huge sense of undeserved entitlement as compared to other communities."
