Medicare short comings

I feel so sorry for Jack Johnson. (not the singer). This poor ex-army bloke with cancer has had to admit he shagged Pauline Hanson to help pay for the treatment.

It's a disgraceful way to treat an ex-serviceman.

Deleted the last one, as the last line may have been a tad confrontational ?

Nothing unusual here.
That's the way Dept of Defence works. Their ethos is, if they wait long enough, the poor bastard will die, and then he won't need treatment.
Nothings changed for the last 90 years.
Let's all bend over, and be their next victim !

By the way, have you an email link to the article. The only highlight in the posting leads nowhere ? Would like to read the finer points, being the sadist I am ?

fixed Stephen.
And confrontational is OK on this blog. Unless it's pathetic or defamatory. ie anything by David and/or Gadfly.

Even reading the article, and the shock of seeing Pauline nearly rusting the glasses, hasn't changed my mind any.
I have heard of other poor saps, nearly completing their time, having the same sort of trouble, and being left for dead. Even on active service overseas.

The real sad point is, what if the poor bastard had not sold his story ? Dept of Defence would have gotten away with another one ?
Shame on you DOD
Nothing changes, another generation of screw ups in the making.

If a politician tries to put a figure on the cost of the war, the ongoing costs are usually left out of the equation.
Even poor health care for vets is expensive, and then there is the huge increase in recruitment and retainment costs.
Not to mention the cost of the inevitable after war arms race.
