Here's Keith in The Age:
"They have blown in here, some of them for three, four or five years and now don't want anyone else to live here — it's ridiculous when such a plan was put together 20 years ago and our town boundary was built around it," he said.
"It is just these few selfish people that are saying, 'We are here now and we don't want anyone else to come'."
Get real Keith. That "few selfish people" is a group of at least 2,500. And they certainly aren't blow-ins.
If Grossman was at the red rally he'd know that.
In an earlier attempt to make himself the most unpopular man in town, Grossman was extensively quoted in the local paper claiming that the objectors were too emotional and couldn't see the benifits of lining his pockets with cash while tripling the population of the town.
Keithie-babes got a very good run which isn't a shock considering he sold a shit load of land to the paper's owner for a retirement estate.
The whole Spring Creek saga will be ruled on at an upcoming council meeting. I sincerely hope that those councillors voted in by the masses will side with the masses, and not cave in to a handful of selfish landowners and blow in dirt pimps.
I still can't confirm or deny the rumours that environmental vandals Gunns Limited have bought a big slice of land in Spring Creek, but if they have you can expect a shit fight of massive proportions.
To make matters worse, Grossman has also been mouthing off about "greenies" who are a little bit suspicious of his connections with current sitting councillors. Damn those people who want to make sure that multi-million dollar deals are done transparently and Grossman's endorsements at the last election don't come with strings attached.
And to those councillors who had their campaing material endorsed by Keith, we are watching you very closely indeed. Do you support local democracy or are you going to sell out the masses to help a mate?
Update:
In regards to Keith's "a few selfish people" argument, read the following submission figures on Spring Creek and tell me it's not the other way round.
2822 against and 16 for.

Has this flared up again ?
He thought he had his sorry ass brought up, to front VCAC a year ago over this, the last time he tried to have his land rezoned ?
Oh, and for nothing, it's a bloody swamp isn't it ?
Sorry, that should be VCAT.
VCAT had nothing to do with what happened a year ago.
When Keith was Mayor he wrote to the Minister for Planning, to have his land exempted from the Rural Zones, to Farming Zones. A translation forced on all Victorians, by this Government, which the minister actually excepted.
After the controversy, and Keith's actions were made public, the Minister changed his mind, and Keith's land was then changed to Farming Zone. The Torquay Jan Juc Structure plan, that was adopted last year, and had the blessing of all including the Minister, identified and recognised Torquay's two growth corridors. One being North, and the other being the Western corridor, which runs past Keiths land. This corridor is not new. It's been identified for over 12 years or more. But what's different is the land use, and density of development proposed. It was intended that the Western Corridor, was to be future Rural Residential allotments, similar to the Ocean Acres development approved only a few short years ago. It was not designed to allow 300m medium density allotments, and that's what has changed with the latest proposal.
But who's at fault ? Well it is the State government's new planning controls, that no longer support rural residential development because, in their view, it is waste of what could be productive farming land, and it spreads the need for services over too far a distance. So if someone needs a semi rural lifestyle for a horse, or a few chooks, or perhaps maybe a cow and a pig or even a vegi garden, just to make their family a little bit SUSTAINABLE. Stiff
As for Xavier the Savior. Could it be that this new champion of everything that is green, has been fined by the shire for cutting down 20 odd native trees, so he could improve his view? Could it be that this Pie Eyed Piper sings another tune?
Interesting issue, and can't wait for the solution to present itself ?
If you plan on running anyone out of Town Iain. Start with Webster the "Brian Burke" of the Surf Coast and then his close family friend Grossman for supporting him as Mayor and reciprocating by supporting Keith's application to change the zoning of his land for medium density subdivision.
Then you go to the rest of the gang of five, that ruled the last Council, Mears, Hodge and Davidson that, through shove their weight behind the Hansen Partnership, drew up this stupid plan to turn the valley into a sea of "sustainable and affordable" rooftops.
Who knows what other, "behind the doors" deals this mob has done.
It's a pity that more people didn't listen to Councillor Humphrey and his supporters, when he came out against the Torquay Jan Juc structure Plan, and the conflicts of interest that are rife in this council. Who's watching and attempting to keep the "bastards honest" now?
If we needed Humphrey to keep the bastards honest, we were always going to be up shit creek. The bloke was all tip and no iceberg to quote an ex PM.
He spent most of his time whinging about nude beaches and shit stirring, and it's no shock nobody took him seriously.
I have confidence that some of the new non-aligned councillors will take up the issue of accountability.
At least we knew what Humphrey did. We now know what the others did, and is it any wonder why they attacked, and accused Humphrey of everything, including leaking confidential information.
After a lengthy well funded investigation the "leaker" turned out to be his accuser Libby Mears. Shit sweep that under the mat.
Fuck make her mayor again.
At least Humphrey had no secrets, and was not part of any secret deals. So what if he took a stance to clean up the nude beach. With him there, we knew what was going on, whether we liked it or not. Forget the spin, he just came out and told us warts and all.
Now we get the council run by spin doctors. You might be happy but I'm not.
Lygo, how can you still hate Humphrey? when it was your mates Hodge, Webster, Mears, Grossman and Davidson that sold us out. Hodge, Mears and Webster are still there doing the deals behind closed doors, and peddling crap through the spin doctors. You can't tell me that Grossman is still not pulling the strings. After all he endorsed their campaign material
Thanks to Keith, and his new team we will get at least one kilometer medium density alotments that will be a sea of sustainabe affordable roof tops, that will be the Spring Creek Valley. Don't forget to consider the solar panels, and rain water tanks, that will limit the amount of vegitation that can be planted around this "iconic" proposed development.
Forget canopy trees, cos they will fill the gutters with leaves and create a fire risk, and Brumby will say no to that, and any canopy trees would restrict the sun from the solar panels. 300 metres doesn't leave much for vegitation.
You can't blame Humphrey for this mess, but on the other hand, Keith reckons he might make a quid, but at least we'll get a walking track.
Don't forget its your mates that
Keith endorsed that continue to run the show.
Harry, they are not my mates.
Have a look at the following quote from the post above.
I sincerely hope the rumours are wrong, but if they are true, I hope those responsible for the first kilometer "debacle" get run out of town and investigated to the full extent of the law.
"Lygo, how can you still hate Humphrey?"
Simple, He tried to get me fired from my job for expressing political opinions on my own time. It was a case of pathetic bullying, Do i need another excuse?
"You can't blame Humphrey for this mess" I Don't read the material again.
And for the record, if the first kilometer has already been given away, I believe their needs to be a full independent inquirey into all council dealings on this matter. The ombudsman should be called in even at the hint of a backroom deal.
If you want to keep debating here Harry, kindly stop making up shit about me.
I apologise, I knew nothing about the job thing. No, no excuse at all, it is your site, and you do with it as you please. I had no idea of the history.
That doesn't detract from the rest of the gang though.
I don't think it is "shit" about you at all. During the last campaign, whilst reading these pages, I saw nothing of this brewing, nothing at all. Surely this has been going on for quite a while ?
I think, now reading these pages, that there is a WHOLE lot more than we have been led to believe, and those responsible, have a shitload to answer ?
Thanks Harry,
apology accepted.
The whole Spring Creek saga has slipped under the radar of the vast majority of shire residents. The one good thing about it is, people are now starting to pay attention to local politics.
Councillors will be under much more scrutiny from now on. A good thing for all.
By the way, what happened with the results of the VCAT inquiry ? I have been unable to find out the results.
Not sure what VCAT inquiry you are taking about Harry?
Wasn't there a vcat inquiry, into the whole Grossman land and change of classification, conflict of interest thing ?
I don't know, about three month's ago wasn't it ?
