Fuckwits first

I used to think Family First were harmless religious wackos who deserved a bit of respect for having a go at democracy.
When the Victorian ALP gave FF a senate seat, I was more than a little disturbed by a few of their more extremist characters like Danny Nalliah.
Now that they have given preferences to Pauline Hanson I am geniunely concerned about the lunatic fringe right in Australia.
FF's only senator, Steve Fielding is not a stupid man. He knows the score on preference deals, and he knows FF have given Hanson and/or One Nation a real chance of getting back into parliament.

By putting Hanson ahead of the Greens and the Democrats, FF has essentially argued that they prefer The Rabid Redneck Redhead in the Senate than the calm, dignified and intelligent Senator Andrew Bartlett.

FF have also preferenced One Nation ahead of the Dems and Greens.

I've been running some figures through the ABC Senate calculator and even with a very high far right wing vote (Hanson/FF/One Nation) Hanson rarely gets the sixth spot on the ticket. The calculator is saying she will have to get over or very near the full quota to get in.

In a lot of scenarios it's Ian J Nelson from One Nation getting the final spot. I can also see FF getting a senator in on the back of One Nation and Hanson's vote.

Not very Christian is it?
